The research and sorting activity is differentiated into two levels: with dates and without dates. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word. An Escape Room activity about the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Ideal for Year 5 or Year 6, the activity is perfect for group work, starting a new ancient history topic, religious education, team-building activities or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. The activity can be used in English class as it incorporates some ELA skills or in Social Studies. The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word. In the second lesson the students need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusion. This is an informational text writing unit about the key figures and events of Ancient Greece. The remote learning unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4 learning about Ancient History. When downloaded this resource includes a printable version of the activity and a PDF with a link that allows you to copy the Google Slides document and save it in your Google Drive. The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided. This activity is an online resource, that uses Google Slides, and is linked to your Google Drive. It can be completed by students online using tablets or computers. However, the resource also comes in a PDF format, which can be printed. Please ensure when you download this resource into Google Drive that you are logged in to the Gmail account where you wish to store the activity.
