First lesson of this module focusing on talking about children’s rights. All images from the text book are removed from the slides but I have signposted page numbers for ease. This was aimed at a top set Y9 class so some more structure may need to be added for lower sets - writing frames, speaking grids, amended translations etc.

Lesson aimed at top set Y10 but can easily be adapted. Lesson looking at different accommodation types and using the preterite and imperfect tenses together. Potential for at least 2 lessons worth of content. C easily build in more whole class questioning, whiteboard recall and retrieval practice. Prior learning: preterite tense formation; imperfect tense formation; holiday vocabulary (countries, transport, activities). Pupils had already written an extended description of a past holiday (90 words) which they go back to this lesson and improve with a more detailed description of accomodation. Starter: Gap fill - preterite tense text about a past holiday with key verbs removed. Pupils have to fill in the missing verbs then find the two mistakes - 2 of the verbs should be in the imperfect. This was designed for a top set Y10 class but I used both the VERDE and ROJO books as they are only just starting the GCSE course. A GCSE revision lesson talking about food and meal times. Aimed at a lower ability class but still has high levels of challenge. Writing frames and additional support provided (such as instructions both in French and English) if needed. Linked to Studio Vert Pg50 but solely focuses on mealtimes, talking about food preferences and DOES NOT include anything on quantities (Pg51). Basic past tense opinions and topic based vocab drilling. Recap of key infinitives and preterit tense formation of all verbs. Foundation Y8 French lesson recapping weather (lesson 1) and then moving on to say what you do in good and bad weather (lesson 2). Follows the Studio 2 Foundation book Module 1: T’est Branché - Unit 5. Print out vocab lists included on hidden slides that wont show up during the presentation but can be printed off in advance of the lesson. Follow on lessons (approx 3) from ¿Qué estudias? looking at forming opinions about school subjects. Looks at how to ask questions as well as how to extend answers. Geared towards KS3, lots of consolidation and opportunities to develop extended speaking and writing skills. Y8 Spanish lesson aimed at more able learners but could be adapted for lower ability pupils by adding in more consolidation activities of key vocabulary. Focus on using SE PUEDE + INF but also re-caps future tense and the use of PARA + INF. Opportunities for pupils to create their own SE PUEDE sentences as well as an introduction to the holiday activities taken from the Pearson Viva 2 book. Peer assessment with success criteria also included as well as the chance for pupils to redraft their work based on their feedback. Feel free to adapt / amend as necessary.

Low ability Y8 French lesson on places in a town. Introduction to places, speaking and pronunciation practice, il y a and il n'y a pas de + noun, listening activity taken from Pearson Studio 1 book. Feel free to adapt / amend as appropriate. Printable sheet with vocab list on for books. Includes a 'My Learning Journey' slide with can do statements against which pupils can assess their progress.
