The starter activity is a glossary, matching key words to their definition. It is differentiated for higher and lower (higher have ore words) The presentation then discusses why we experience night and day. There are lots of youtube links to help visual learners. The main activity requires children to shade in a diagram and then explain why we experience night and day. Higher children have key words and need to write their own sentences Lower children fill in missing words SEN children have first letter of each missing word Please note I do not own any of the pictures or videos used in these resources.

The presentation looks at the theories of Aristotle, Copernicus and Galileo to show how these theories led to modern day ideas about the solar system. The first activity asks children to fill in diagrams to show the difference between heliocentric and geocentric models. The second activity asks children to write or match facts about early astronomers and is differentiated 3 ways. Higher ability write own sentences Middle ability match stickers and fill in missing words Lower ability match stickers Please note I do not own any of the pictures or videos used in these resources.

The presentation goes through the order of our solar system and describes the key features of each planet. There are a few youtube links to support visual learners. The main activity looks lovely in books. Children need to put the planets in order on a blank space sheet. These can be printed in a sticker format. Please note I do not own any of the videos or pictures in these resources.
