Hello All, Within this resource you will be able to access a practical physical theatre SoL with: 1 x SoL 7 x Fully prepared PowerPoint lessons 1 x Assessment task and feedback sheet All handouts that go with the lessons. Within this SoL, students will develop skills for the live theatre component of the GCSE Drama course while in KS3. Students will be required to learn about the style of physical theatre using an LGBTQIA+ activism stimuli and will learn how to evaluate these using the GCSE guidelines. Along with this, they will learn about appropriate physical contact, a range of various devising techniques and how to use semiotics to communicate with an audience. Within this SoL students will also be given the opportunity to learn how to describe, explain, analyse and evaluate live theatre using the GCSE Drama – Live Theatre Analysis exam structure. They will be shown how to respond to a top band answer and using a scaffold to write their own live theatre analyses on a group of their peers. This will be the assessed component of this SoL. Within this SoL, Students will develop their use of physical and vocal skills and start to apply them to the style of Pantomime. They will focus on communicating with the audience stylistically through audience participation, learn how to communicate meaning through devising and learn how to work effectively in groups. The main focus for this scheme of learning will be on devloping their devising skills and understanding of how to evalaute live theatre. Hello All, Within this resource you will be able to access a practical melodrama SoL with: 1 x SoL 7 x Fully prepared PowerPoint lessons 1 x Assessment feedback sheet All handouts that go with the lessons. This scheme of learning has been designed to prepare students for the Scripted Performances unit of GCSE Drama. Students will focus on developing their physical and vocal acting skills in the correct performance style, interpreting a character and being able to communicate that to the audience without getting “Stuck in the script” and also eliciting the expectation of learning lines for a performance so that doesn’t come as a surprise during KS4. They will also understand the importance of historical / social context when preparing a performance and the influence that has on style. This is a two part SoL with the rehearsal and performance elements following in the next SoL.
