Product and Sum of Integers 2

Product and Sum of Integers 2

Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two whole numbers and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one middle number and either their sum or product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing number from the middle. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two numbers from the middle are. This is a nice way to lead onto factorising quadratics.

Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two mixed number fractions and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one mixed number fraction from the middle and either the sum or the product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing fraction from the middle. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two mixed number fractions from the middle are. This is very challenging and students can either use trial and error or a more rigorous algebraic method depending on their ability. Students who have mastered simultaneous equations should be able to approach this.
