This is a using and applying maths lesson which introduces the children to the idea of Sudoku using symbols. PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK! There is a web link to the free worksheets. There are 2 levels of difficulty. Use the Smart board which takes you through the lesson. Use the plenary sheet at the end, one for each child to stick in their book, so they can reflect on their learning. SB lesson subtraction finding the difference

This is a lesson which introduces children to working out subtraction by finding the difference between the two 2-digit numbers numbers by using a number line. Follow the lesson and then on the SB there are 8 sums, 1 star and 8 sums, 2 star for them can choose from. I let them choose which level to start on. If they finish ask them to do the other sums. They must use a number line each time. PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK! I have attached a blank mult square for the starter. Plenary is marking their work-answers on the SB.

SB 'UK Festivals' topic KS2 incl Sikh Vaisakhi

This was part of a festival topic we did in year 6 where the children imagined going round the UK to different festivals. In the first two lessons the children plan what they would need to take on a trip and design their own vehicle (DT). They begin in Norwich at the Dragon Festival and then move on to Birmingham for the Sikh New Year festival (Vaisakhi). Then they pop over to India! Then return for the Festival of Speed and the Welsh Music festival. The Smart Boards are detailed and can be followed without a lesson plan. Then they travel to Northern Ireland.

There is also one which encourages them to extend their sentences. PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK!

Word problems- How many packets are needed? Yr3/4

(7)
Cut up these questions and put on the desks for the children to answer. They can record the answers in their book, making sure they write down the number of the question and use the answer sheet at the end to self mark. For each question they have to use their knowledge of counting in 3s, 5s, and 6s etc to work out how many packets are needed. For all the questions they have to buy extra packets as the number they need to does not fit in perfectly.

Yr 3/4/5 Division Challenge 6 stages+ SB

(5)
The children LOVED this lesson! Follow the Smart board to understand what to do. The children try to answer the 10 division questions on each card as quickly as possible and then self mark before moving on to the next stage. Only let them have one stage at a time. PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK!The questions get harder as they go along but there are no division with remainders questions. It is very motivation. (A few managed all 6 stages in half an hour-that's a lot of maths!)

The children try to answer the 10 division with remainders questions on each card as quickly as possible and then self mark before moving on to the next stage. Only let them have one stage at a time. PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK!The questions get harder but it is possible for some to complete all 5 stages in a lesson!
