How to plan and structure responses to extended questions - A Level PE

(0)
Simple resource where students are asked to highlight AO1, AO2 and AO3 within the question. Visual guidance is very effective here as they can see the different colours highlighted and understand what each AO component is asking. This in turn helps with the structure as students are then able to plan their paragraphs accordingly.

Why We Have School Rules Assembly

(0)
Assembly focusing on why we have school rules. 4 scenarios shared with the cohort to think about in a workplace setting as if they are the boss. Then the context is shifted to school to make the link as to why it is important. Some data to consider too in some of the slides and the impact poor attendance and punctuality can have on performance. Enjoy.

First Impression Assembly

As a new Head of Year or as an assembly at the start of the academic year. Create your own short video with the instructions inside the PowerPoint and then follow instructions through the remaining slides. Used this several times and it is a fantastic way to make an impact on students and make them understand how their actions have consequences. Make the right choices early to create a positive learning pathway for themselves.

Quiz Quiz Trade for Cell Organelles GCSE Biology

Great repetitive task for students to explore the cell organelles required for GCSE specification. Quiz, Quiz, Trade requires each student to have a card and stand in front of another student. Student A quizes Student B with their card, then student B quizes student A with their card and then they trade cards and repeat the process with a new student. Ideal time for task is 10 minutes but it depends on class size and how much you can trust them to stay focused. A great task for learning in an interactive manner.

The sliding filament theory is one of the trickiest and complex aspects of the A Level Specification. This resource breaks down the journey of the electrical impulse from the CNS, converting into chemical impulse at the synapse before causing muscular contraction due to the sliding filament theory at the muscle. This interactive activity allows students to understand what is involved at each stage and what each component is responsible for. Learning a fun way with the prison break challenge.
