I am now a retired teacher having taught for over 40 years in the UK at secondary level. I wanted to share my love of Mathematics and teaching by providing a good set of resources which will more than cover all your needs for as many topics as I can and at good value for money. I am trying to cover many topics from foundation level GCSE up to grade 9 at higher level in a way that is interesting and relevant. I hope you like my style !

Identify The Graph - 42 Graphs - With Answers!!!!

(0)
Aimed at the higher level GCSE pupl, this is a phenomenal set of graphs in two formats: Students are shown 42 different graphs and have to work out the equation of the graph using roots and intercepts. I have used this Powerpoint for years and students always find it useful. Graphs include: Straight Lines Quadratics Cubics Power curves Square roots Reciprocals Trigonometrical and even one Quartic. You can, of course, rearrange the slides and take some of the more difficult questions out if you wish. It is an excellent exercise or starter. I have included the Powerpoint and the same 42 graphs on a PDF for tutors and revision. These took a tremendous amount of work and are absolutely priceless. Answers are included Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you

Mixed Transformations

Over 60 questions on identifying transformations. This is a PDF of 5 large questions where shapes have been transformed using a variety of different transformations - can you identify each transformation fully. I used these with top sets in years 9 - 11 and again with revision classes. Finding the centre of rotation is sometimes difficult so I kept these for more able groups. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

Sharing in a given ratio - 40 questions + answers

(0)
This PDF consists of over 40 questions on all aspects of sharing in a given ratio. This includes all three types of problems related to this subject. They are quite detailed questions and are therefor better for more able KS3 or any KS4 pupils. I aimed this at Y10 - groups that had covered the basics of ratios but needed to see more complex examples of such questions. I also used it as a revision sheet on ratios. Answers are included. Please give feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

Straight line graphs for foundation level - With Answers

(0)
This started out as a quiz or lesson starter but I developed it on into something much more useful. There are two questions, each has 26 parts covering everything that a foundation level student needs to know about straight line graphs and their equations. Most students enjoy the short question which are not too demanding but I’ve tried to bring out a salient point with as many questions as I could. In total there are 52 questions which can be used as a starter, homework exercise or a revision exercise. ****Answers are included. I hope you find them useful.

This pdf is a comprehensive worksheet consisting of 10 questions on histograms. Most questions require a histogram to be drawn (often with the frequency density scale not given) -The sheets are of the “Write on” type - so no preparation needed. Several questions require students to find the median from a histogram or other similar calculations. Ideal for revision. Aimed primarily at GCSE higher level these questions can be used to teach the topic or can be given for revision. Answers are included. Drawing Pie Charts

This PDF is a worksheet of six questions on ‘Drawing Pie Charts’. Each question covers a full page and the circle and starting line are presented to the student. Answer on the sheet - or use each question to show how the work should be set out and angles calculated. I used this with KS3 initially but found it really useful to talk through, ‘How to answer exam questions’ with the foundation level GCSE groups too.

Averages

This pdf consists of 10 questions on Mean, Mode and Median of discrete with a small range - frequency tables are covered in a seperate worksheet. The first question (with around 20 parts) is simply finding Mean, Mode and Median and I used this with year 7 and also used it to discuss RANGE. The second set of questions I tended to do in Year 8 or 9 but can be used for revision with lower ability groups - these questions explore the pupils understanding of Mean. Ideal for the introduction of Mean, Mode, Median and Range and also useful for a revision worksheet. Answers are included.

Applications Of Integration Part 2 + Answers

(0)
This pdf consists of 10 questions involving integration of higher functions - not polynomials. Students are required to integrate by substitution, parts, trigonometry, exponentials and logarithms. Applications are limited as the integration is the skill being tested, but applications include: Integration as the reverse of differentiation, Solving simple differential equations, Areas. I used to give this sheet as a revision sheet at the end of Integration in Y13 as each question requires a different method of integration as well as an application. It proved to be a great sheet to talk through as well as practicing methods and techniques. Answers are included as usual. Please leave feedback - particularly if you like my work, thank you.

Factors Worksheet - with answers

This PDF consists of 10 large questions (with well over 50 parts) on Factors, HCF and the Rules of Divisibility. Aimed at year 7, the sheet was given as a class activity as there is an awful lot for each pupil to do - several hours of classwork / homework - I used it for working in pairs as this will take one student more than one or two lessons to complete. Several of the questions were used as a springboard to discuss other ideas such as prime factors etc. The sheet is extensive and thorough, covering everything your classes need to know about factors and their applications. Questions asked include: Factors Prime Factors Factors of Square Numbers Factors of Prime Numbers HCF Rules of divisibility (not 5 or 10) Answers are included. Please leave feedback - particularly if you like it - thank you.

Compound Angles - With Answers

(0)
This pd.f consists of 40 questions of 8 different types all involving compound angles. (I think one question uses double angles but that is fair game). This set of questions is ideal for end of topic or revision as some of the questions involve surds and algebraic manipulation. My students have always found this topic a little cumbersome and books rarely do it justice so these questions provide a bridge between what is in text books and what to expect in the exams. ** Answers are included.**
