Included is a PowerPoint presentation on what life was like during the reign of Joseph Stalin. There are tasks for pupils to complete as well as information that can be shared electronically with pupils or printed and placed around the room. Included in this lesson are child friendly video links that give a pupils a good idea of what life might have been like. The document containing the different 'people' can be use to demonstrate how communism works, a pupil can hold each of the signs up to the class and collectively the class can discuss who should earn what money, the truth can then be revealed as to what each person would earn in a communist society. Money props work well in this activity.

Included is also a worksheet timeline which pupils can complete by cutting and sticking the events onto the corresponding time frame. Use of a survivor account would also work well and help pupils to understand the extent of the regime, many of these accounts can be found online and there are a vast number to choose from. video clips are also available on youtube.

Included here is a PowerPoint presentation on Abraham Lincoln containing information and tasks. One of the tasks is to record a witness statement as if the pupil was at the scene of the murder of Abraham, to help with this, included is a witness statement template.
