Get students to puzzle their way through the history of the Berlin Wall, trying to stay in touch with their long lost friend Thomas on the other side of the wall. Engage students with a story website that will require them to work through a mix of text, video, jigsaw puzzles and codes to be the first one to win. This resource can be used as a revision lesson on the topic of the Berlin Wall or, with some internet research by the students, as a first introduction to the topic. This quiz is based on a six minute medley of German songs and it is aimed at intermediate German learners. It would be ideal as an introduction to the topic of music or as a fun game at the end of term. It includes 12 different genres of music from folk to heavy metal and an exercise on description words to give opinions about music. If played in teams it usually takes about 20-30 min - students answer questions about the genre, description and content and guess which band picture goes with which song.

It covers the main difficult letters/letter combinations like ‘ie’ and ‘ei’, ‘sp’ and ‘st’ and ‘J’.
