Images to create a small flipbook demonstrating the nerves that are active in the reflex arc. Pupils can cut out the pieces and staple together to a flipbook (or get the awesome reprographics guy to sort it), and then pupils can colour in the nerve that is active (first sensory, then reflex, then motor - and then the hand is removed as the effector muscle is active) to show the direction and action of each nerve. NB: Cutting off the bottom right hand corner at an angle makes the book easier to 'flick&'. :)

Whilst the teacher completes a demo (using food in a bowl for the mouth, a potato masher for teeth, bottles of water for stomach acid, a pair of tights as the intestines, and a hole cut in the end as an anus etc!) the pupils document each stage of the process and the appropriate key words on the worksheet.
