Their task is to fill in the jigsaw piece with things that represent their identity. Think of it as a Coat of Arms: which is a symbolic representation of an individual’s identity and values. This is a twenty-four paged booklet that I designed for adult learners who were completing a Level 1 City and Guilds Employability/ Personal Social Skills Course. This booklet is for the ‘Equality and Diversity’ module. All the questions meet the qualification criteria. As a tutor you can either go through the booklet page by page, using it as the base for your lesson plan or give the learners the book as a research project. I have created questions, scenarios and tasks for the following topics: Equality Diversity Stereotyping Discrimination ( Direct and Indirect) Prejudice Key Legislation against Discrimination Below are the learning outcomes for the lesson: By the end of the session all participants will : Define the term ‘equality’​ List the key legislation​ Give examples of inequality in a range of situations​ Identify bodies who work on equality issues​ Define the term ‘diversity’​ List the key legislation​ Give examples of positive and negative stereotyping​ Give examples of how diversity can benefit society.​ State the difference between discrimination and prejudice​ List the areas of discrimination covered by legislation​ Give an example of direct discrimination​ Give an example of indirect discrimination

Pride month themed Taboo game. The objective of the game is for students to have their team member guess the word that is on the board behind them. They can’t say the word itself and in some circumstances, other words that are listed in relation to this word. Complete with instructions on how to play the game as a class and 35 separate Taboo slides. Slides contain LGBT celebrities, terms and other things associated with Pride.

Instructions: Guess the famous LGBTQ+ person. Each player will take a card and act out the named person with verbal clues or through imitation. This resource is double sided, with the Pride flag on the reverse side of the cards. There are eight cards per sheet that include different LGBTQ+ celebritie’s names. There are also two blank sheets where you can add additional names into the game.

iNSTRUCTIONS: Divide players into teams. Each team has sixty seconds to memorise all of the items in the box below. Players are not permitted to take a photo of the game sheet or to write any of the objects down on paper at this stage of the game. After the allocated time is up, the players will be asked to turn over their game sheets. They will then have three minutes to write down, from memory, every item that appears in the box below. The team who can memorise the most items, wins!
