A quiz useful for an end-of-year lesson, or for revision purposes. Focuses on the AQA spec. for year 1/year 12. There are 6 rounds, with 10 questions in each. Rounds are: • La famille en voie de changement • La cyber-societe • Le role du benevolat • Une culture fiere de son patrimoine • La musique francophone contemporaine • Le septieme art (le cinema) Some of the questions require gap-fill, others are more like the exam comprehensions and others are choosing the correct letter. There are also short translations.

A revision lesson aimed at A level students studying Bonjour Tristesse for the paper 2 exam of AQA’s new spec. Includes a PPT that explores: recapping of the key themes the book as an existentialist text the book as a psychological depiction the resemblance between the author and the protagonist the critical reception this book was subjected to the dilemma and the choice of Cecile Activities include translation and discussion throughout. The main activity is based around essay writing. The students have 10-15 mins to plan a response to an essay question done as either HW, an assessment or in another lesson. They are then given an exemplar response (included) to that question to get them familiarised with the mark scheme, etc.

An introduction lesson to Spanish Culture (PPT is fully in English so can be adapted to Spanish), aimed at Year 7,8,9,10 students. Aims to improve the cultural awareness of Spain, in regards to the country’s society, history, geography and culture. Students are encouraged to look for similarities and differences across Spain and other European nations, with several discussion points available. The depth of these discussions varies depending on the year group you are teaching. The lesson also provides students with a wider knowledge of how influential tourism is - its positives and negatives. There is a quiz on Spain, with answers provided, that can take up between 10-30 minutes depending on how you utilise the resource.

For A level students having studied the AQA A2 spec, this booklet covers all the topics with particular focus given to examples students can use in their speakings. Also uses the literary techniques sheet included for them to refer to for revision, or to add as evidence in their arguments)

A resource I created to give to A level/Year 11 students as an in-class exam which can be particularly useful for Assessment Points. It tests the following: Pronouns: exercises include re-writing sentences and replacing certain words with the correct pronouns Tenses: give the correct conjugation of the verb with the correct tense Translating questions and inverting verbs into French *Comes with answers provided on the last page of the document. ** This test normally lasts around 45 minutes so I have enough time to explain what we’re doing in the lesson and then do a short plenary or starter activity.

A full topic vocabulary list from the ‘El Racismo’ topic. Aimed at AQA A2 students. Subtopics include: 2.1 Las actitudes racistas y xenófobas 2.2 Las medidas contra el racismo 2.3 La legislación anti-racista Includes Spanish and English. This can be used as a revision activity, given to students to learn at the start of the topic, or cover the English or Spanish and get students to fill the gaps as an assessment.

AQA A level French resource An exemplar essay written to answer the following question: “Analysez comment les rapports entre le narrateur et ses parents changent au cours du roman." This is marked and includes feedback plus where this would score if it were to be marked by AQA examiners. There are several reflective questions at the end where students must look at ideas they can take from it, think about what could be improved, and more, meaning it makes a great lesson activity.

The exercise can be used to assess how well students are able to use the correct verb in a given context.

A booklet designed to help students practice their translation from French into English. Primarily designed for AQA where at Foundation and Higher, students translate a short passage from French to English as part of the last question on the Reading exam. Useful as part of an introduction lesson, or a revision tool. Used as part of A level AQA Lit B spec. but can be useful for any exam board studying the text.

A fun and interactive Who Wants to be a Millionaire quiz - French Revolution style. I found this quiz online and have converted it to PPT format for easy use. I take no credit for this work. Great for revision or end of term! Enjoy :)
