A lesson designed to focus on the connotations of a range of book covers from John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men. The lesson discusses the definition of the term connotations and is a simple and effective way to introduce analysis and consideration of themes/context/wider ideas. Aimed at and successfully taught to lower ability KS3 but could be used with lower ability KS4 as a starting point for AQA literature.
