This is a set of workheets for students to make a poppy wreath. The first sheet is a ring to cut out. the next 2 sheets have poppies, spruce and leaves. The students cut out and add colour to the parts. These are then layered to create a wreath. The parts can be bent and shaped to give more dimension. There is banners that can be added with an inscription. There is also 2 sheets of poppy images to colour.

In this lesson students look at the work of Kandinsky. They analyse different art works and discuss Abstract art. The practical lesson is based on cards around the room with simple line images on them. We play musical chairs and move around to different cards to create the abstract design for the basis of the artwork. The ppt has the cards at the back to print out. This lesson looks at types of balance and symmetry. Students consider radial design and how Mandalas are used in other cultures.
