Pack includes: Lego block display pack Lego Slow Writing word mat 10 x picture prompt sheets with examples to support less confident learners. PowerPoint with picture prompts The most popular way I have used this resource is with a ‘mystery bag’ of real Lego pieces in the corresponding colours. Have students reach in and select however many pieces they need (easy differentiation). They can then use the blocks to create a short creative writing piece, linked to your current theme, or use the picture prompts included for inspiration. Alternatively, you can laminate the brick cards and have children select a number from a bag/pack. A great resource for supply teachers or last minute lesson fillers!

The worksheets are based on the Ruth Miskin scheme and DFE letters and sounds. They will work alongside all major Phonics programmes. Every level provides children with the opportunity to write the sound and develop their vocabulary using the images. The activities are progressive, moving from initial sound recognition to reading comprehension using drawing. Every page includes images with the initial/final digraph sound to help children to remember them. These have been tried and tested in my own classroom and work well as both home learning or as an independent activity.
