FREE! Flip for Math: Step-By Step, 3-in-1, Flip Book for Multiplying Fractions

(3)
The purpose of a ‘We Flip for Math’ Flip Book, is to provide a struggling student with a step-by-step guide to take them through the process they are struggling with. The complexity of some skills can be quite challenging for many students. Being able to remember all the steps can become overwhelming. A flip-book can help walk these children through the process. In addition, I have found flip-books can be helpful when sending homework home. Including a flip book can make for very happy parents! This free flip book is a ‘three-in-one’ flip-book. • Section 1 provides a step-by-step guide for multiplying a fraction and a whole number. • Section 2 demonstrates how to multiply two fractions. • Section 3 focuses on how to multiply mixed numbers. If you like this flip book be sure to check out others being offered at my store!
Bathroom/Drink Passes (4 passes per sheet)

Bathroom/Drink Passes (4 passes per sheet)

(0)
These passes can be used when students request to leave the classroom to either use the bathroom, get a drink or both. I print several passes for each student, I write their name on the back with a sharpie, so no one will be tempted to use another student's pass. Students can keep the passes at their desks and turn in to teacher when using. I choose to put tickets in library card pockets on the wall. I laminate both the pockets and passes which allows them to last all year.

Customary Capacity Poster

(1)
This one page handout allows students to visualize how a gallon, quart, pint and cup all relate to each other. While there are several different visual representations for these customary capacity measurements, I have found that students can relate to this representation better than others.

The Less Paper Classroom: Multiply a Fraction & a Whole Number

(0)
I began creating the Less Paper Classroom product line after seeing a need for a true digital product I could use in my own classroom. I believe being completely paperless is an unfair expectation for any classroom, I do believe, however, that using less paper can be achieved, and this product is designed to allow the teacher to do just that. This product includes 25 full page PDF solve cards. Each solve card features a multiplication equation (a fraction times a whole number). In addition, each solve card is followed by a full page PDF check card. Each check card features a large QR code, which should be able to be scanned from anywhere in the room if projected on a classroom display screen. Once scanned, the QR code reveals the correct answer. Also included is a traditional recording sheet and a traditional answer key. One huge benefit of a less paper product, is that after downloading the classroom teacher has literally no prep at all. How cool is that? The zip file contains several different file formats. Choose the one that best suits the many ways you plan to use them: Both Solve and Check Cards, Solve Cards Only, Check Cards Only. I have also included a page describing several ways I have used these cards in my room. While this product was designed to be used on a tablet, iPad or projected on a classroom display like a mimeo or a smart board, you could certainly print it out and use it in a more traditional way if you like. Be sure to check out my blog to read posts about my journey to becoming a Less Paper Classroom and watch for additional "The Less Paper Classroom" Products arriving in my store soon!

FREE! Predator-Prey Relationships Matchbook Foldable

This product is a matchbook type fold-up identifies the predator prey relationship within an ecosystem. To create this matchbook fold-up, simply run the outside sheet (upside down for easier copying) on one side of the paper and the inside sheet on the other side of the paper (always run a test copy to make sure the fold-up folds properly). To fold a matchbook fold-up, lay the inside face up. First, bring the top of the page down to the bottom horizontal line and fold. Then, bring the bottom of the paper up and fold on the bottom horizontal line. When finished it should look like a giant matchbook. Fold-ups are a wonderful resource that fit well in an interactive notebook or can be used as a stand alone resource. I find that my students refer to the fold-ups throughout the entire school year!

his set contains 24 task cards Also included is an explanation sheet with information on how I use task cards in my class, a cover card for the task cards, 'break' cards, a recording sheet and an answer key. The Early Bird Learns! This set contains: • 24 task cards designed to practice solving two step linear equations. A task card might read-- Solve for t -- 2t + 1 = 5. Or, solve for f -- 14 = 9f - 4. • Title task card. • 3 take a break cards. • A student recording sheet (color and black and white). • Answer key. I would recommend printing task cards and answer key on white card stock and then laminating for durability.

Scientific Method Steps Foldable

Scientific Method Steps Foldable

(1)
This foldable breaks the Scientific Method down to 5 steps: Observe & Ask Questions, Form a Hypothesis, Plan an Experiment, Conduct an Experiment, Draw Conclusions & Communicate Results. This foldable will fit perfectly in a science journal. Just be sure to trim on the grey line before distributing to students. This makes for a much nicer fit. This foldable can be used as a stand alone resource as well. The teacher has several options with this foldable: Make copies of the blank template and parts page and allow your students to assemble. Run the completed front and inside copies for a few simple scissor cuts and an instant complete foldable. Or, do a bit of both...just run the cover and have students cut and paste parts in the appropriate spot.
Science Process Skills Foldable

Science Process Skills Foldable

(0)
This foldable features the most commonly used process skills: observe, classify, measure, infer, communicate and predict. The front cover has each process skill. Open the flap to reveal the definition. As a teacher you have several options on how to use this foldable. You can run copies with all the parts already on the template or you can run a blank template and all the pieces. This will allow students to assemble themselves. A third option, is to run the cover with the parts in place and then have the students cut out and glue the matching definitions. This foldable works well in a science journal or as a stand alone resource. Note that the grey line is a trim line. As a teacher I trim on this line before giving copies to students. Trimming on the trim line makes for a nicer fit in a science journal. Please visit my blog for additional pictures of this foldable.

Parts of a Fraction Foldable

Parts of a Fraction Foldable

(0)
Students need the basics when working with fractions. This fold-up names the various parts of a fraction (numerator and denominator, gives the definitions and has a visual representation. This fold-up will fit nicely in a student's math journal or as a stand alone resource. This is a two page resource: The front cover and inside. Each copy will make two fold-ups. The cover is upside down for easier printing. I would recommend, however, that you run just one copy and make sure it folds up correctly. A quick trim on both the bottom and the top will allow the line between the numerator and denominator to match up properly.

Geometry A Closer Look at Prisms

Learn about Prisms! This tri-fold defines a prism, polyhedrons and lateral face. A visual representation shows what a lateral face and the base. Several prisms: triangular, rectangular, cube, pentagonal, hexagonal and octagonal are all shown. Always make a test copy before copying for your students to make sure the cover and inside fold up properly. Note that the cover is intentionally upside down for easier printing.
Order of Operations Tri-Fold Fold-Up

Order of Operations Tri-Fold Fold-Up

(0)
Order of Operations resource your students will use! This half sheet Order of Operations tri-fold resource will fit perfectly in your student's math journal or as a stand alone resource. This resource lists the order in which students are to solve multiple operation equations. The grouping symbols (parenthesis, brackets and braces) are also addressed. I chose not to include exponents, because exponents are not traditionally included in the grade I teach. I have rotated the cover to make printing easier. I would recommend, however, that you do a test print and cut to make sure the tri-fold fold-out is copied correctly before running all your copies. This is a front and back handout. Each page contains two tri-folds.
