45 slides worth of analysis and exploration of Goblin Market. This is designed to meet the requirement of the Edexcel A level course, but can be used for any spec. Detailed context for this period in her life is provided as well as further context around the inspiration for the poem. Introductory tasks are given on initial interpretations of the poem and then discussion and interpretation points are worked into points throughout the poem. Summative and essay tasks are given at the end. Slides exploring a number of key interpretations are given. I have also included an essay looking at some issue of Freudian-psychoanalytical and Marxist-Feminist interpretations. Slides are linked to the rest of my collection of Rossetti for Edexcel.

40 slides of breakdown for Cambridge iGCSE paper 1. All questions are addressed with advice and highlights to help students understand where to focus on the text. Mark scheme elements are shown with student friendly explanations. Summary, Writer’s Effects & Transformative all have a series dedicated slides looking at how to go about answering and exemplars & what not to do. All slides are animated to show a sequence of information and allow teacher prompts/student thinking time. This would be ideal to work through with Y10 introducing them to a paper or to panicking Y11 who need reassuring & reminding of some key skills. It could also be given out to Y11 revising at home. This sequence works through the June 2021 paper - two lives/changing seasons/the long hot walk & whilst almost all the info is on the slides, you will need to have access to the reading passages in order to work through in full. Designed for use with the Cambridge iGCSE language paper 1. This is a collection of 4 summary tasks to help build skills. The 4 tasks get gradually harder and should be split over a couple of lessons/homeworks. All the information is on the slides with instructions on how to break down the task and the skills that are being tested. All the passages are printed on a handout with the questions and room for answers. Passages included - decorating Easter eggs, Training for a Marathon, Farming in Kenya and an exam question from an old style CIE paper (teachers oct/nov 2014) so students can test their skills without using any of the current past papers. Hope you find it useful - I find teaching the language paper a little dry, so this is my attempt to make it a bit more interesting!! Short extracts from a selection of texts with vocab questions matching the short answer questions 2(a) There are also a series of technique and inference questions if you want to extend the activities. (I find teaching the language paper a bit dull - this is my attempt to break it down and make it a bit quick and fun)

Activites focused on the descriptive and narrative questions - images and writing ideas to help them to engage with the question as well as extracts from the mark scheme. This has enough in it to last for a series of lessons & homework tasks & ideas to pick and choose between. The directed writing section will be dealt with separately.

I like to make sure my students are able to understand the context the poems were written in as well as appreciating the literary skill.
