I cannot take full credit for this one, someone gave me a copy of this a long time ago and I have adapted it over the years. Follow the lesson plan. Basically, split the class into 3 groups. Each is again split into union and management negotiators. (I put them in different rooms when they are preparing their arguments). Then gee them up and let them negotiate. Theory covered includes; strikes, overtime ban, non financial motivation and work to rule. I love this lesson, enjoy.

Lean Production - Two Way Gap Fill

This is an activity for groups of three, which is a really good way of giving dull information to the class. The activity has 3 sheets (part a, b and c). put the students into groups and they have to use the information from their partners sheets to complete their own. NO COPYING! They have to talk to each other, really good for EAL students as it uses speaking, listening, reading and writing. If you like, please leave a comment.

Non Financial Motivation Two-Way Gap Fill

(8)
Two-Way Gap Fills are a great way of giving students large amounts of information without just giving them a hand out, or boring them with talk and chalk. Put the students into pairs. Give page 2 to one of them and page 3 to another (page 1 is for you). Then tell them they have to complete their sheet without letting anyone read theirs. This mean they have to talk to each other; therefore student use reading, speaking, listening and writing skills. Theory included in the activity include; Job Enrichment, Job Enlargement, Delegation, Job Rotation, Empowerment and Team Working.

Attached is a PowerPoint with dozen of animations showing the Circular Flow Diagram. I use it for an introduction to Macroeconomics as it gives a good overview of the entire course. The additional slides can be printed as handouts. A word of warning; I did not include the loans to businesses, as I could not fit it on. Just add it on using an old fashioned board pen. (PS. Green lines are money, red is assets). Enjoy. Comment if you like, or can think of an improvement
