High quality STEM resources for 7 to 18 year old learners and a number of key resources to support classroom and whole-school pedagogy. The resource "Metacogs" is a unique resource supported by the latest research. There is also extensive use of Blooms and SOLO taxonomy behind many of the resources. If you download any resource that could be improved then please leave specific feedback and I will endeavour to improve them further.

A2 Biology - Inheritance - 5 - Sex Linkage

A2 Biology - Inheritance - 5 - Sex Linkage This is the fifth lesson on the GCE A-level Biology series on 'Inheritance' and as the title suggested covers Sex Linkage crosses. Tasks are differentiated at A, C and E standards. All the familiar examples are covered including Mendelian pea characteristics and coat colour. If there are suggestions or amendments to improve this resource then please let me know.

Science of Solids, Liquids and Gases I - An Egg

I came up with this lesson to teach solids, liquids and gases in a contextual way by using a chicken's egg as a practical focus. Give the pupils an egg and find the solids, liquids and gases, where and why are they present and link to some high brow science with the explanations and links to particle theory. This lesson covers L4 to L6, and can be changed to go beyond. Basic lesson attached as usual and please suggest improvements or additions. Follow me on twitter @boostprogress

KS2, 3, or 4 Biology of Variation 1 - Introduction

Good all round coverage of variation, analysis of variation (fingerprints) and the inheritance of characteristics. Provides good examples and punnet squares for the understanding genetic crosses. There is also a nice Mr. Men and Little Miss activity I 'borrowed&' from somebody else. As always leave feedback and follow @CE4ET and @boostprogress.

KS2,3 or 4 Biology of Variation 3 - Vertebrates

A lesson resource for covering the classification of Vertebrates. Some nice activities around the X-ray machine and constructing keys. Ideally this lesson needs a few real skulls and skeletons to get it livened up. If you have none then try the local University or Museum. As always leave feedback and follow @CE4ET and @boostprogress.

A lesson resource for covering artificial and natural selection. Lots of good examples and a nice activity around the Quagga and Pocket Mice...much better than the Peppered Moth and accompanied by a decent video. As always leave feedback and follow @CE4ET and @boostprogress.

Science of Solids, Liquids and Gases II - Felix

This lesson follows on from 'The Egg' for teaching solids, liquids and gases in a contextual way. The focus is Felix Baungatners(?) high altitude heroics (?) and the idea of his suit and capsule being a 'man-made&' egg. The lesson covers covers L3 to L6 and good progress is possible by looking back across both lessons and redrafting written explanations. Basic lesson attached as usual and please suggest improvements or additions. Follow me on twitter @boostprogress
