2 HOURS A fully-resourced PSHE / RSE lesson which serves as an introduction to the difference between sex and gender and explores sexuality, identity, language (correct terms) and gender expression. Students will explore new key terminology before investigating the key components of identity and sexual orientation, why some people still find some of the ideas behind this controversial (such as pronoun use) and then educate other students on a trait they will be working on and presenting in small groups (all information needed is included). Careers + Post-16 Options - For the Gatsby Benchmark Careers Guidelines. 1-2 hour fully resourced careers lesson which introduces the concept of careers, jobs and vocations before investigating the best ways students can establish the right career paths for them. The lesson sees students creating a six point plan based on the provided information, clip tasks and other activities and is perfect as an introduction lesson for a PSHE / Citizenship careers unit. A mega- quiz that is perfect for GCSE students revising content for the beliefs, teaching and practices aspects of their RS exam. The quiz includes some challenging (and some very challenging) revision questions for both Islam and Christianity - including quote analysis. All answers, exam board definitions (AQA) and explanations are included on each slide. This revision quiz was created for AQA Spec A (Islam and Christianity focus) but is also great for other exam boards with a focus on Islamic and Christian beliefs and practices - or could also be used as a fun way to push a top set KS3 group. Students will first explore how TikTok and Youtube algorithms can recommend videos which purposefully push radical views, from misogyny to extreme religion and more, to people who did not intentially search for such content, and discover how people can fall down radical rabbit-holes. They will examine the 'frog in a pot' anology to show how extremist views can take such a stronghold on people. Students will then explore the political spectrum to discover what we mean when we talk about far right, far left and religious extremism, comparing these to sensible left of centre, right of centre and moderate religious views. Using this guide, students will then examine real-life quotes from TikTok and assess whether the quotes would be classed as moderate and sensible views, or are in fact extreme. There are many more quotes than shown in the preview, so teachers can pick and choose which they use according to the suitability for their classes.
