A set of resources to introduce students to Reggae music and perfect a performance of ‘Three Little Birds’. All band parts are provided with and without notes as well as Sibelius files of the various parts which can be easily adapted. Powerpoints for 3 lessons are included with differentiated tasks but lessons can be extended depending on the skills of the performers.

Differentiated resources which aid students in developing the harmony of an original idea. This was originally used over 3 lessons with a sixth form class but could also be used with GCSE students. Students must firstly define harmonic development methods (definitions provided). They must then identify how this looks by using musical examples. The gold task then asks students to apply at least one method to their own composition. All worksheets are in word so they can be further adapted in order to differentiate for your students.

A collection of resources for each area of study to prepare students for the AQA Music GCSE listening examination. Each area of study has an A3 sheet with all terms and definitions. There is also a pp detailing each key word, examples of them and the style of music this is most commonly found in. There is an extra activity for texture which includes a card match and there are multiple examples of scores and recordings to listen to with regards to texture. There are currently 3 areas of study in this bundle with the next 2 to be added in a similar style shortly.

Resources used to introduce rhythm to GCSE students (could be used with year 9 key stage 3). This includes performance, composition and listening all based around rhythm skills only - with a short introduction to structure and texture. This can then be extended to look at melody. All resources are differentiated with set tasks for different levels of students and begins with writing rhythms, developing them using specific development methods, performing a rhythmic piece as an ensemble and then composing a similar piece in groups. Homework individual composition is also attached as well as a feedback lesson.

A introductory unit with differentiated powerpoint and resources to support students in composing a pop song chorus or verse using music technology. This is a series of lessons (minimum 3 to complete effectively). Students are taken through a chord sequence, bass line, drum kit part and vocal melody all with differentiated tasks. There is also a composition guide with step by step instructions so students can complete the tasks at their own rate. A lot of push your thinking ideas are included which would allow students to achieve higher grades.
