This information sheet (supplied as both pdf and Word in this download) suggests many ways in which a students can learn to spell words. Ideal for the students who struggle to learn words for their weekly spelling tests - can also be used to help learn spellings and material in other languages. Not every brain is the same, so not all students can learn through seeing and repeating. This information sheet lists contrasting methods that target the VAK - visual, audio and anesthetic (movement). This could be displayed as a poster in a bedroom, at a work desk or in a classroom. Could be used as part of spelling or handwriting lessons. Excellent for introducing when studying the Brainwaves unit of work. If you're trying to learn something then give some of these methods a try and you'll find the results speak for themselves.
25 reading comprehension and inferential activities

25 reading comprehension and inferential activities

(0)
I created this resource when I realised that several of my students struggled to infer when reading. This is an independent activity in my Guided Reading carousel. Some minor input from me on the difference between comprehending and inferring was all the children needed before getting started. I encourage the students to find more ‘infer’ answers than ‘comprehended’ answers. What I love about this activity is that it has allowed my students to develop their inferential skills when reading worded texts, as well as analysing pictures. The absence of words means it is ideal for numerous reading abilities. This reading inferential resource contains 25 activities. This is great as part of a Guided Reading session or carousel of activities, it could also be used as a lesson starter, morning activity or library session activity.
