An authentic reading resource describing restaurant proposals to reduce food waste. This links with food and drink and the environment topics. There is a link to the original article. Pupils can be encouraged to read independently to improve topic vocab whilst promoting reading for enjoyment. There is a crossword to complete to check understanding. Clues are in English and answers in French. This could lead to independent written and speaking work. Attached is also a solution to the crossword.

Included are an array of resources to introduce the Olympic Games. - There is a teacher presentation that includes a slide with 7 key questions about the games to check pupils' knowledge or a task that can be in the ICT suite for pupils to research. It could also be set as a homework task. Included also in this presentation is a thinking skills match up exercise revealing key Olympic facts. The teacher presentation also contains a list of all events, a further slide is included which shows which sports go with jouer/faire. There is also a speaking task here based on "tu aimes" with "jouer/faire" + sport. There is a slide with links to two authentic websites to find out more info. - There are two word clouds included whereby pupils find key vocabulary one containing 12 phrases, the harder one containing 18 phrases - there is a starter/ plenary with 10 vocab expressions to be matched up (easy to edit) - there is a card sort of 12 phrases in English and French to match up (teacher solution provided to display on the board( - there are two word searches; one with 27 phrases related to the games and some sporting disciplines, the other with 40 sports to find These resources are ideal for end of term activities and revising sports. The website links can encourage independent work. All resources are easy to print.

There are four resources here to reinforce, revise and test daily routine vocab in the present tense. There is a match up activity of 15 phrases English to German. There is a vocab sheet which sets a written task for pupils to write their own timeline of their daily routine. There is also a word puzzle where the key phrases are jumbled, pupils rearrange these phrases demonstrating recall of the phrases. Ideal as starters, plenaries, tests, homework or revision. The solution to the puzzle is provided. The resources can be easily edited or printed.

Table whereby students demonstrate understanding of 5 key tenses; present, imperfect, past, future and conditional. 9 key verbs are used; aller, avoir, etre, faire, pouvoir, prendre, acheter, finir and vendre. Pupils match the French to the English. The resource is easy to print and to edit. The solution is provided for the teacher to display on the board and a full verb table to reinforce these 5 tenses and 9 verbs. This resource can be used as a starter or plenary. Alternatively this is extremely effective revision or homework. The tenses used are all used within higher GCSE papers.

The PPT contains a slide with 25 festive images that are all hyperlinked to a grammar challenge. Each challenge, once completed can be hyperlinked back to the summary slide. An array of resources that can be used and reused with new classes. Included are a variety of resources that are appropriate for a range of age groups. The aim being to get pupils communicating and building their confidence. The resources also enable the teacher to establish the learning climate and expectations for the year ahead. - A treasure hunt of basic introductory vocabulary for pupils to circulate and recall vocab, the alternative if you prefer your students to sit down is a word search. There is a summary vocabulary on the excel worksheet - the pupils then use the vocabulary to produce their own luggage label in their books introducing themselves - Also attached is an introductory PowerPoint setting out the course content for the year (edit to suit your scheme of work) and classroom expectations - Within the PowerPoint "connaitre mieux ma classe" there is an amazing selection of icebreaker activities: --- an outline of a person where the pupils fill in key information (what they learnt last year, what they like to do, what they don't like doing, their best friends, what they want to do after school and a memory from childhood --- 5 generic introductory questions --- an acrostic using the letters of their first name to describe themselves --- a survey with 15 questions that they answer themselves and then pose questions to their partner to find out their answers --- a template where the pupils provide details of their learning style --- a slide which prompts them to reflect on their learning thus far and their moving on targets this year ---positive note on leaving "I'm glad I met ______ because" (in French) --- 3 exercises of the activity "find someone who" (with varying difficulty) - excellent for formulating questions and recalling high frequency vocabulary --- 2 truth and a lie --- "my biggest weakness" with 8 examples as a prompt for pupils Really engaging activities that set your year/course off on a positive note. This would be an excellent end to the year for you and your class. The first slide on the Ppt is a Christmas scene, pupils/teacher click on a number in the scene and complete the challenge as a class. There are 25 activities to complete. Each activity is hyperlinked back to the Christmas scene. The challenges are easy to differentiate and it would also be easy to re-use as starters or revision for other lessons.

This resource pack contains a teacher presentation revising descriptions of home and making comparisons. This teacher PPT is 18 slides and includes speaking and writing practice of which house they prefer and justification for their opinion. There is also a kinaesthetic reading resource where the teacher cuts up six comparative sentences and places them in envelopes with the translation on the outside of the envelope. Pupils work in groups or independently to translate the sentences. These are easy to edit for your own purpose. There are 11 slides of celebrity homes to be printed out for prompt cards for the speaking and writing task. There is also a vocabulary support sheet to help pupils. These resources were used in an observation where I was judged "outstanding". It is a really fun and meaningful lesson.

Teacher cuts out the phrases and displays them around the room. The English is displayed on the white board and pupils circulate around the room finding the translation. Pupils are penalised for misspellings. This is easy to edit for all topics.

The resources include a starter to rearrange the parts of the body. Also included are two word searches of 14 body parts, one provided the German, in the differentiated version pupils have to translate the English before finding the German. In addition there is a word puzzle containing illnesses and problems the words need to be unscrambled to reveal the correct phrases. In the teacher presentation there is a recap of illnesses whereby pupils translate 9 phrases aiming to reveal the mystery character. There is an example of a dialogue at the doctors and a speaking and writing frame for pupils to describe problems and offer solutions.
