The aim of this resource pack is to introduce pupils to ways of travelling to school now and in the past. Pupils complete graphs on how they travel to school, how their parents travelled to school and how their grandparents travelled to school. They answer questions about what they have found out and compare the different ways of travelling. Pupils should learn to distinguish between aspects of their lives and past times, sequence modes of transport correctly and sequence three drawings relating to their own lives.

These interactive History resources have been developed from document-based resources on CD available from Cardiff Castle. (Contact Education Officer: Elizabeth Stevens 029 2087 8110) It is assumed that these activities will be used in conjunction with a visit to Cardiff Castle but they could be also be used on their own to support work in your school. The topic is split into four areas; The Arab Room Floor; Servants; The Bute Dowry and Armour through Ages with an interactive introduction to each lesson. The lessons can be viewed on an interactive white board or a standalone computer.

The resource is split into four sections sections: * In sections 1 and 2 pupils meet a cook from each era and are guided through a description of each cook's work in a storybook style. * The main session includes interactive activities designed to emphasise the similarities and differences between the kitchens of the 14th century and the present day. * The plenary has an interactive wordsearch to help reinforce the work covered in the unit.
