Students love working their way through these interactive, fun Escape Rooms. This Digital Escape Room on Christmas around the World includes five challenges. There is absolutely no Preparation for the teacher! Students can work through in groups or on their own. They move from challenge to challenge until all questions and activities have been completed correctly. This escape room has been created using Google Forms and is self checking. A scenario is presented whereby Santa’s sleigh is missing. Santa’s magical sleigh, laden with gifts for children around the world, has gone missing! Initial reports suggest that it was last seen near the North Pole, but whispers of peculiar happenings in Christmas-celebrating countries have surfaced. Students must solve a series of challenges related to traditions in different countries, decipher coded messages, and piece together clues to unveil the whereabouts of Santa’s sleigh. The clock is ticking, and the joy of Christmas hangs in the balance. Can they save the day and ensure the global delivery of holiday cheer? The adventure begins! The objective calls for them to demonstrate knowledge on Christmas in different countries, among other critical thinking skills. Once they pass through each challenge successfully they will have escaped the room and saved Christmas! The tasks include working through the Challenges: Challenge 1: Using math to uncover a secret code - they will learn about BODMAS and use this to solve the mystery. Challenge 2: Word Scramble - they will unscramble 10 words that relate to Christmas countries around the world Challenge 3: Reading Comprehension - students will read the lyrics to the song Christmas around the World and answer multiple choice questions. Challenge 4: Identification of suspects - students identify difference christmas characters that are suspects. Challenge 5: Digital Jigsaw Puzzle - students will piece together a puzzle to reveal the thief. Then they will solve a riddle to find the country where the sleigh is.
