Hindu temples.
Fourth lesson in SOW looking at the main beliefs of Hinduism. This lesson looks at Hindu temples (Mandirs) and their importance to Hindus.

Seventh lesson for GCSE AQA Religion, peace and conflict paper (Theme D). This lesson focuses on the concept of peace making looking specifically at the real life example of Hacksawridge and the beliefs of Desmond Doss. Contraception and family planning
Third lesson for GCSE AQA Theme A: Relationships and families. This lesson focuses on the differnet types of contraception and reasons for and against their use. Students look at the Catholic viewpoint on contraception.

Fourth lesson for GCSE AQA Theme A: Relationships and families. This lesson focuses on why people choose to get married, traditional Christian weddings, same sex marriages and provides and opportunity to check in with students learning throughout the unit so far.

Utilitarianism.
Fifth lesson in scheme of work aimed at KS3 focusing on what philosophy is.
Students will study study famous philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle and consider how their thoughts and teachings are relevant to the modern world.

Causes of war.
First lesson in scheme of work focusing on religion, peace and conflict. These lessons look at a number of different aspects of war including the causes, the moral aspect of going to war, pacifism, weapons of mass destruction and the just war theory.
This lesson introduces students to the concept how and why wars start and moral guidance of how wars should be fought.
This is a complete lesson that has been designed with non subject specialists in mind so that it is fairly easy to pick up and teach. Lesson includes differentiated tasks, work sheets, on screen task management board and relevant information.

Fifth lesson for GCSE AQA Christianity beliefs paper. This lesson focuses on the belief that Jesus was God and Jesus was human. Students examine evidence for Jesus’ humanity and His deity before students summarize their learning.

Sixth lesson in GCSE AQA Islam beliefs paper. This lesson looks at the Islamic belief in the idea that Allah is in total control (Al-Qadr) and the role that free will plays int he lives of Muslim. The Gurdwara - Sikhism.
Thrid lesson in scheme of work exploring Sikhism and it’s fundamental beliefs. The series goes on to look at the main beliefs how these beliefs impact the lives of Sikhs.
This lesson looks at tthe place of worship for Sikhs and includes a virtual tour (via video) of Guru Nanak Gurdwara.

Islam scheme of work.
This bundle acts as an introduction to the beliefs of Islam that I have used with many year nine classes. This is a great age to discuss the worlds second largest religion and address any misconceptions around Islam and terrorism.
The lessons cover the beginnings of Islam, the importance of Muhammad, how Islam has become linked with terrorism, prayer and giving.

Reasons for war

Gandhi and Ahimsa.
Sixth lesson in SOW looking at main beliefs of Hinduism. This lesson looks at one of the worlds most well known Hindus, Gandhi and his belief and practice of Ahimsa. Students are familiarized with the biography of Gandhi, his salt march and some of his quotes.

Euthanasia
Third lesson in scheme of work focusing on moral/ethcial dilemmas that are faced by people around the world every day. This scheme of work looks at reasons for and against these dilemmas and what religions may say about this.
This lesson introduces students to the concept of euthanasia by allowing them to explore the law in the UK and reasons why a person may or may not agree with the euthanasia. This lesson follows closely from lesson 1 around the sanctity of life.
