Updated for the 2021 Spec. Applied psych Unit 1 Approaches and Assumptions learning aim A My students asked for a summary powerpoint of each approach/assumptions for LAA. They found this useful. This is for the new spec so there are no key studies, but at least two evaluation points for each approach.

A double sided worksheet / gap fill for Chomsky and Piaget’s theories of language acquisition and cognitive development respectively, with criticisms and outline of each. There is a word search which comprises of the words that need to be used for the gap fill - start with this. I then played a video which outlines each concept, and the students used that combined with the words from the wordsearch to complete the sheet. Completed examples also included.

A double sided sheet meant for A3 - gap fills and then a series of varied tasks to complete. Independent revision if you want - also has a version with completed answers.

Learning mats for students to complete - I recommend they complete what they can from memory with one colour, then fill in gaps from their notes in another colour. There are tasks to complete too. completed sheets are attached also. I do one lesson per sheet, so this is 4 lessons. If yours are more able it will be two sheets a lesson.
