I made the original worksheet about 3 years ago and staff keep on requesting copies of it. It's a very simple sheet to explain how to design a good quality PowerPoint Slide. I've added a PowerPoint presentation with the answers and a simplified lesson plan. I hope its helpful and please adapt as you wish.

This is a complete BTEC Unit 2 including the assignment and Scheme of Work. It has been used and moderated in the past. I hope it is useful. This little activity gets students to think about different audiences and how to make an appealing logo. It also allows students to look at the difference between Vector packages and bitmap packages. As an extension students could also animate the logo. (The activity can be done by hand as an alternative.)

Students really enjoy making a Top Trumps Database and its a nice way to introduce them to basic Databasing concepts. (Designed for MS Access 2007 & 2010)

We used the Lego Mindstorms Robots for this, but you could use any Turtle or robot to compete in an Olympics. Simply put, we got students from neighbouring Primary Schools to come in and compete for the honour of winning the Robo Olympics. This tutorial introduces infographics, which are used widely by communication professionals to share information and in some cases argue their case persuasively. I set this up to encourage year 7's to use Spreadsheets effectively, but this is even more useful for introducing staff to the idea of processing information into digestible chunks especially for Mathematics. Very useful for dyscalculia students.

Fun little tutorial to teach all the things pupils want to do in Scratch, move, baddies and directional lasers. The videos are silent and the link is to the finished game on the Scratch Website. However most importantly it gives students the basic code to do their own ideas...

You might be surprised by what colour combinations students respond to. I have a number of SEN students that find certain colour combinations far easier to read. Great SEN tool to help students find most comfortable colour combinations. This can also be used in ICT to help students think about design combinations for PowerPoint.

This Slideshow teaches students to use Master Slides and backgrounds effectively.

This is a complete Web Design module that can be used in Keystage 3 or as a refresher in Keystage 4. It uses the free software, Kompozer which is a WYSIWYG designer but enables you to see the code at a glance. In the module students design a Web Safety site, helping them to understand how to use the web safely. There are links to the software, the sample site and the planning lesson. (Videos are silent) Please be warned that students have made Internet safety disclosures during these lessons. Be prepared.

This little presentation introduces Cartoon Story Maker. A great little application made by the Victorian State Government. The entire presentation was made using it and the first link shows you the end result it saves. The other link is to download the software for yourself. (Requires Adobe Flash to use)

These worksheets teach students about the ratings systems for games and how appropriate different games are for children. These worksheets would be useful as part of a Games Design project in ICT and in PSHE and citizenship in teaching children to be responsible about what games they play. This little tutorial shows you how to make a Gantt chart using the free software GanttProject. It's a lot easier to introduce project management concepts when they don't have to be bogged down with the complex Maths involved or use software that's not really designed to do it.

This little video and associated materials helps students to make a spaceship and get it to move in Scratch. There is also a link to the completed game on Scratch which you might want to share.
