Vanilla flavoured Quiz

Vanilla flavoured Quiz

(2)
This is a very simple multiple choice that either allows you to quickly make your own multiple choice quizzes for students to do or for students to develop their own quizzes. It's deliberately plain so that people can add their own designs and unlike most PowerPoint quiz templates this one allows you to choose any answer as the correct one. (This prevents students from simply learning the order of the quiz) It was developed to help prepare students for their Edexcel GCSE coursework and is one of the resources my colleagues keep on asking for...
iPad on Fire (Demand And Supply)

iPad on Fire (Demand And Supply)

(11)
Students very much enjoy discussing topics in Economics that are relevant to then. This little cluster of resources enables teachers to discuss the recent launch of the Kindle Fire and how it affects demand and supply for the iPad. It includes a student made poster as well in Publisher and PDF Format. Do students think this is the correct interpretation or do thet think they could do it better? (This resource could also be used for ICT when discussing new technology.)
Terrible Example Survey

Terrible Example Survey

(6)
This survey shows how not to do it! A great lesson for students to see that even adults make very silly mistakes and a real confidence builder for them to note how they could do it better. This resource now includes a detailed lesson plan and Worksheet for making your own survey.

Personal Digital Devices

A revision PowerPoint to help students with the Edexcel exam. Page numbers refer to Revise Edexcel GCSE ICT. (Not necessary for students to use.)
OS Death Match

OS Death Match

(6)
A complete lesson with Slides, handouts, exercises and plan. This is one of my favourite lessons, because it opened up my students' minds to the fact that there are more OSes than just Windows and MAC OS.
Guide to animating characters in PowerPoint

Guide to animating characters in PowerPoint

(7)
This shows how easy it is to animate images in PowerPoint taking away much of the difficulty that animators would have had in the past. (The Movie is supposed to be silent, because not all my PCs have headphones.) Also in Office 2010 you can record a narration and save it out as a video. This could then be uploaded to a video site or shared with children at a local primary school. (For older versions of office you could use Camstudio to record the video.)
Santa Claus Spreadsheet

Santa Claus Spreadsheet

(3)
This little spreadsheet exercise helps students to know where cells are and they then colour them into make a Santa. This is ideal for low-level KS3 students or KS2 students to help them map cells to places on a spreadsheet. (I still can't believe how quiet it kept the year 8's whilst they did it.)
Helping the Teachers with ICT

Helping the Teachers with ICT

(2)
This project encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning and improve the use of ICT in school. This could be a one-off project in an ICT lesson, a project extension for gifted and talented or something that school council investigates. It also could also be connected to a Digital Leaders project.
Parental Help Leaflet (Online Safety)

Parental Help Leaflet (Online Safety)

(5)
This project is designed to help students to think about the safe use of Social Networking sites in the guise of designing a leaflet for parents. Very useful, especially for year 9's who believe that they already know it all. Once made, sometimes the students create quality projects that are worth sharing with the parents. This project does NOT require any direct access to Social Networking sites, so is useful for schools who block Facebook etc.
PowerPoint Slide Builds

PowerPoint Slide Builds

(1)
This lesson shows students how to do effective slide builds for presentations. This is an important skill when presenting slide shows to slowly reveal information and keep the audience interested. This could also be used in English as part of their Speaking tasks.
Create your own Role-playing Cards

Create your own Role-playing Cards

(1)
This can either be done as an ICT exercise to create the spreadsheet and/or database of cards or as an English exercise to encourage KS2 students or weaker KS3 students to create cards for a new roleplaying game.
Internet Safety For Parents and Assemblies

Internet Safety For Parents and Assemblies

(5)
In my role as Internet Safety Officer, I originally did this presentation for an assembly, but have since used it to guide parents. As a workshop with questions it takes about 45 minutes, but as an assembly you might need to take out some of the slides to fit your assembly timings. There are notes in the slides if this is being presented by somebody who is not technical and the aim is to encourage discussion between parents and children.
Design a Game Cover

Design a Game Cover

This package has everything you need to teach how to make a CD / DVD / Games Design lesson. This was originally done as part of ICT, but crosses over nicely into Design & Technology or Art. It CAN be done without PCs. There is one Publisher file, but if you don't have it then use the PDF alternative file.
Representing Data: choosing the best graph

Representing Data: choosing the best graph

(13)
Maths Activity suitable for KS3 and KS4. Just because Excel can create a graph, it does not mean it is the right graph to use. This lesson shows students how to choose the right graph for the right situation and exercises for developing those skills. If you are kind then you can let students use the Excel file.

BTEC Unit 28 Technical Support

This is a complete BTEC Unit 28 including the assignment and Scheme of Work. It has been used and moderated in the past. I hope it is useful. If you update it, please let me know and I will repost or link to the updated version.
Master Slides - One Slide to Rule them all!

Master Slides - One Slide to Rule them all!

(6)
This lesson shows how professionals make slides that are consistently excellent via the use of Master Slides. It includes a lesson plan, videos examples of how to layout Slide Masters and a couple of links to Youtube if you don't know how to use this feature of MS Office. This technique is very useful for the Edexcel GCSE and as a general skill in KS3.
