Formation of Fossil Fuels Worksheet / Booklet

(0)
To be used alongside the following YouTube videos, this booklet contains questions that can be answered whilst watching the videos, and then pupils may draw a cartoon strip of formation on the front to show understanding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ1HIBIIJU0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ_Ethb6_Wk [I do not own, did not create, take no credit for and have nothing to do with these videos except googling for them, but the worksheet is designed to go with them and they are great! :) ]
Sound/Light Revision Poster/Worksheet

Sound/Light Revision Poster/Worksheet

(2)
A4 poster designed to help pupils revise Light, Sound and a little chemistry. Was originally designed to summarise a few Year 8 topics in the Exploring Science scheme of work, but summarises a few key general ideas and practises a couple of key skills. Useful for a cover lesson, research skills from the textbook or summarising topics.
Stages of Pregnancy Activity

Stages of Pregnancy Activity

(3)
This contains some key information about fetal development that can be used for a variety of activities. I gave each pupil a 'stage&' for which they created a poster, and then presented to the class. The information could also be used to create tables or be put in order like a card-sort. All the images and information are just stolen off the internet and just collated- no credit taken.

Light and Lenses Circus

(1)
Labels to help set up a 'Light Circus&' - using different practical stations around the classroom. Pupils circulate the stations using equipment such as lenses, lights, prisms and mirrors. Pupils then answer the accompanying questions and fill out the attached A3 worksheet with their answers and observations from each station. Includes occasional challenge questions for higher ability pupils.

A table of 4 specialised cells with accompanying descriptions and diagrams for pupils to copy / cut and stick into the correct boxes. All images stolen from the web - no credit to meee.
Recognising Chemicals and Hazard Symbols

Recognising Chemicals and Hazard Symbols

(6)
A quiz in which pupils identify whether a chemical is an acid, base or salt, and identify the new hazard symbols with their name. I used this presentation alongside the colour-coded worksheet to aid a low ability year 10 group in identifying chemicals from their names and symbols.
Super Predator / Super Prey Cards

Super Predator / Super Prey Cards

(1)
Pupils are given a card each (half the class predators and half the class prey) and asked to design their own made-up animal with as many adaptations as possible. Once complete, the pupils are then able to walk around the class and have a 'pokemon-style&' battle with the opposite type animal; comparing features to decide who would win... Would the predator manage to kill the prey or would the prey get away?!
Convection Flipbook

Convection Flipbook

(0)
Pupils are asked to draw onto the 8 images, creating a cartoon strip of a convection current. This is then cut out into cards and stapled together at the left side. This should then be able to be flipped quickly to show the movement of particles.

C1.3 (Acids) Revision Poster

(1)
A3 poster designed to help pupils revise GCSE topic C1.3 (AQA) but covers key ideas about acids . Was originally designed to summarise the topic at the end of the term as well as making some nice classroom wall art! Useful for a cover lesson, topic summary, or guiding weaker pupils to targeted revision / research.
Digestion Demonstration Worksheet

Digestion Demonstration Worksheet

(0)
Worksheet designed to accompany the digestion demonstration. Whilst the teacher completes a demo (using food in a bowl for the mouth, a potato masher for teeth, bottles of water for stomach acid, a pair of tights as the intestines, and a hole cut in the end as an anus etc!) the pupils document each stage of the process and the appropriate key words on the worksheet.
Cholera Transmission - Dr John Snow

Cholera Transmission - Dr John Snow

(0)
An information leaflet [in the form of a letter] detailing Dr Snow's evidence for the transmission of cholera being through infected water. Includes a missing summary sentence for pupils to demonstrate their understanding and summarise the transmission method.
Fantasy Food Web

Fantasy Food Web

(3)
Activity to introduce creating food webs. The cards contain pictures and information about fantasy animals and plants which can be given to the pupils in a pile. Each card explains the predator and prey of each animal and contains all the necessary information to be arranged either into smaller food chains or one large food web. An accompanying presentation introduces food chains/webs, and includes questions / a plenary using the fantasy animals in the main activity to check understanding.

Level 3 BTEC Applied / Forensic Science. Assignment 1. P1. Help-sheet for task on 'Atomic Structure&'
Reflex Arc Flipbook
katie-lukatie-lu

Reflex Arc Flipbook

(2)
Images to create a small flipbook demonstrating the nerves that are active in the reflex arc. Pupils can cut out the pieces and staple together to a flipbook (or get the awesome reprographics guy to sort it), and then pupils can colour in the nerve that is active (first sensory, then reflex, then motor - and then the hand is removed as the effector muscle is active) to show the direction and action of each nerve. NB: Cutting off the bottom right hand corner at an angle makes the book easier to 'flick&'. :)
