I post things that are finished and that work. I make resources when I can't find anything that works in the way which I want it to. If they don't work for you then let me know through the comments section and I'll try to put them right. If they do work and you like them then please comment too. Some things take a long time to make and to get right... so I charge a little for those.

Purifying copper

(2)
The same start as the copper powerpoint about the pitfalls of metal extraction. The difference is the animaton of the purification of copper that shows what happens at each electrode and also electroplating. Comments welcome.

Multiple choice quiz with answers that give an anagram of rutherford. The stems have strange lettering to achieve this so watch out, pupils find it difficult to get their heads round a. b. c. d. m. n. o. p.!

All the OCR Y10 Formulae and RMMs on one sheet

(1)
Students write formulae from names and calculate relative molecular masses from formulae. A simple two sided sheet that covers all the formulae and masses needed in the Y10 OCR course but will be useful for other boards. comments welcome.

Fertilisation in Humans

(4)
This is a three slide powerpoint. Print out the first two and you have a cut and paste activity. I added the third slide so that pupils could self mark the activity. It saves a lot of writing about intercourse which some pupils in year seven find difficult to do. Comments and feedback welcome

Datasheet of common ions

Datasheet of common ions

(6)
A simple table of common ions that pupils can reference when working out formulae. Old fashioned but great for those stretching and challenging formulae questions

Thermosetting and thermosoftening polymers

(5)
Four clear powerpoint slides that show crystallinity in HDPE, random chains in LDPE, thermosetting polymers and thermosoftening polymers. I go through it using the IWB but print out the slides, two on a paged, backed, without the diagrams, to give pupils the opportunity to draw out the different structures.

Moles, a structured approach for GCSE Chemistry or AS Foundation

There is a work book and an answer sheet in the resource. Pupils can be guided through the work book although more able pupils will be able to use it as an independent study booklet. I have included answers as colleagues found them helpful. Reviews and constructive criticism welcome

Mechanisms for AQA A-Level Chemistry, second year

I made this presentation from the mark schemes of exam papers. It includes the examiners comments and notes. AQA are quite picky about getting the mechanisms just right so I went to the source, the examiners and not the texts.

Key Stage 3, Year 7, Science Revision Slide Show for the Forces topic. I use this as a homework resource initially, that pupils can work through at their own pace. I also use it in revision lessons. The Forces Revision Power Point is written for the Exploring Science course and follows their Big Questions format. This resource is a great starter for a GCSE Forces topic
