This lesson uses the story of Branwen, daughter of Llyr, one of the four branches of the Mabinogi, as a basis for teaching comprehension, speech marks and adjectives. It begins with a simplified presentation of the story. The main activity presents drawings of Branwen and Bendigeidfran. Pupils assign adjectives to each character by gender. The plenary requires the correct positioning of speech marks into an extract of the story. There are five supporting worksheets at text and sentence level.

A resource that helps students to look at images and how they can portray moods, information etc. By the end of this lesson students should have: * explored how we read images * explored how text affects the way we read images * manipulated images to test impact * written an analysis of a real world image

Long a and long e vowel sounds. Pupils see three different graphemic representations (spellings) of these vowel sounds and are asked to make words using the Wordmaker machine. If the answer is correct the word is spoken and a picture appears. Suitable for older pupils with SEN.
