Rights Respecting Schools Article of the Week resource

In my last two schools we would focus on a Unicef article of the week and refer to it in our teaching as part of being rights respecting schools. I have created a template of the 42 different rights which pertain to children and this can be printed and added to a noticeboard or display for easy referral. They can also be used in your planning or to help you track which articles you have used in your own planning. I use these each week to inform my planning and for display purposes so my children can see and read which article we are focusing on this week. Further information: https://www.unicef.org.uk/what-we-do/un-convention-child-rights/ Here is the PDF where I used the phrasings of the UN convention of the rights of the child: https://www.unicef.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/UNCRC_summary-1_1.pdf

This resource contains 10 posters which you can use as part of a Growth Mindset display within your classroom. They are positive messages of hope and resilience which hopefully will motivate your students as much as they motivate mine.

Emotion Zone resource

I have had this resource displayed in my classroom since my NQT year. It’s at the children’s height and the children can check in how they feel every morning and afternoon registration. The widgets themselves are usually moved around the appropriate zone to help them. The children love accessing it and usually write on the emotion zone areas their own suggestions on how to deal with those types of emotions.
