I have used this resource with my Year 2 group of Working At/ Expected and Working Above/Greater Depth readers and the children have really enjoyed the tasks. The children call this their ‘selfie questions’ as they answer them independently. This resource contains planning for the entire book. Each page is based on 5 pages from the book. The questions cover a range of different types including retrieval, inference, prediction and clarification and each ‘selfie’ sheet has an extension task This is also a resource which could easily be used with Year 3 as well.

This is a Estimation Station I use in my KS1 classroom. It is simple, visual and black and white printer friendly. This resource contains a display image with appropriate vocabulary, sheets for the children to write their answer on and 10 visual prompts to be used in conjunction with concrete materials or as a quick visual question for the children to respond to. These prompts correspond to all areas of the KS1 Maths curriculum aims as well and are useful for Assessment and pinpointing misconceptions.

This resource is very useful when you have a slow start and the children are coming in in random waves. This resource has 20 slides and its enough for a month’s morning starter for a Year 2 class. It has a Phase 5 handwriting focus and a simple maths focus of either place value, counting in 10’s or number bonds.

My students love these slides! These slides are very useful for a slow start and are a way for children to practise their handwriting independently as they begin the school day. I use these as children enter my classroom in dribs and drabs. They copy each letter, word and sentence 3 times before writing their own independent sentences.
